SEMM offers residents of Coronado and the surrounding areas an exclusive prehospital medical care plan, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

An exclusive prehospital medical care plan for residents of Coronado and the surrounding areas: immediate medical response, security and peace of mind 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
An ambulance certified for Advanced Life Support (ALS) under MINSA Resolution No. 170, stationed in the Coronado area and staffed by a university-trained Emergency Medical Technician and a certified emergency driver.
SEMM — Mobile Emergency Medical Service provides the medical service. Services Coronado promotes the initiative locally and supports residents through preregistration.

What does the plan include?
Everything used during care is covered by your membership, with no extra charges.
A dedicated local ambulance
An ambulance certified for Advanced Life Support (ALS) stationed in the Coronado area, available 24/7 including Sundays and holidays.
Specialized personnel
A university-trained Emergency Medical Technician certified by the Ministry of Health, plus a certified emergency driver.
Comprehensive medical equipment
Airway, trauma, monitoring, diagnostic and CPR equipment, with supplies and medications per MINSA Resolution No. 170.
Home-based medical care
Assessment at home for situations that may not be an emergency, so you don’t need to travel to a medical facility.
24/7 telemedicine
SEMM telemedicine app: consult a physician and, when appropriate, receive e-prescriptions, lab orders and medical instructions.
Protection for the whole family
Include family members, people living on the property and household staff. Occasional visitors at your home are also covered.
Hospital transfers included
Transfer to the San Carlos Polyclinic or Aquilino Tejeira Hospital in Penonomé at no additional cost when care requires it.
Preferential rate to Panama City
High-acuity transfers to Panama City for US$360 for members (regular cost approx. US$800 to US$1,525), based on medical assessment.
Two-ambulance option
With two ALS ambulances in Coronado, transfers to La Chorrera or Panama City for the listed critical conditions are at no cost to members, and one ambulance always stays in the area. Coverage extends to Corona, Vistamar, Rio Mar and Bijao.

What is the SEMM Coronado Plan?
It is a 24/7 prehospital medical care plan by SEMM (Mobile Emergency Medical Service) with an Advanced Life Support ambulance stationed in Coronado and the surrounding areas, home-based care, telemedicine and hospital transfers.
Does preregistration cost anything or commit me to pay?
No. Preregistration only records your interest. It does not charge you or activate a membership. When SEMM confirms the launch, we’ll tell you how to enroll and pay through its official system.
Why is a minimum number of members needed?
To assign a dedicated ambulance to the area, SEMM needs a minimum number of plans. Every confirmed preregistration helps reach it.
Which communities are covered?
With 1 ambulance: Coronado, Nueva Gorgona, Punta Barco, San Carlos and Playa El Palmar. With 2 ambulances: Corona, Vistamar, Rio Mar and Bijao are added. If you live in another nearby community, choose “Other” and SEMM will review your case.
Who can be included in the plan?
Family members, people living on the property and support staff working at the residence. Occasional visitors who have an emergency at your home also receive care (without access to the telemedicine app).
